The Indiana Drug Enforcement Association will present the 2025 line-up of interactive training in De-escalation Training; Interacting with Persons with Mental Illness, Addictive Disorders, Intellectual Disabilities, Autism, Developmental Disabilities, and Alzheimer’s Disease or Related Senile Dementia; Mental Health and Wellness of Law Enforcement Officers Including Managing the Stress and Trauma of Policing: (A) Healthy Coping Skills to Preserve the Mental Health of Law Enforcement Officers and Manage the Stress and Trauma of Policing, (B) Recognizing: Symptoms of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, and Signs of Suicidal Behavior, and (C) Information on Mental Health Resources Available for Law Enforcement Officers; Training Concerning: (A) Human and Sexual Trafficking, (B) High Risk Missing Persons; Continuing Local-State-Federal Education Involving Domestic and Child Abuses, SIDS, Endangered Adults, CPR, Heimlich Maneuver, NIMS, Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazardous Materials, and Familiarization with Reflective Clothing Rule. This unique way of presenting state mandated training was developed by the Indiana Drug Enforcement Association and has been seen and approved by the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy. This refreshing approach delivers law enforcement a new interactive meaning to state mandated training and it only takes 2 hours!
The Madison Police Department and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office will be hosting state mandated training on May 29th with two sessions (10am and 2pm) at the Ivy Tech Lecture Hall.
